The Southend Fund awards grants to organisations which apply to them through the Essex Community Foundation. The money comes from the interest on the Southend Fund which is controlled and invested by the trustees of the Essex Community Foundation. The money in the Fund is raised by the Southend Fund Development Panel chaired by Peter Croysdill and the grants are awarded by the Southend Fund Grants Panel chaired by Howard Briggs. Applications are accepted from any group which enhances the community whether it be through social assistance, sport, the arts, charity or the myriad of other organisations which contribute to the welfare of the people of Southend-on-Sea.
